Adapted from Issue #1 of Frank Miller's seminal 1986 comic series, filmmaker Wyatt Weed ("Shadowland," "Four Color Eulogy") offers his unofficial fan's take on the Batman mythos. Following the death of Robin at the hands of the Joker, Bruce Wayne (Weed) hung up the cowl and cape 10 years ago. But now Gotham City is in the grip of a violent crime wave, and the venerable 55-year-old billionaire has to decide if the time is right for the Caped Crusader's return. They say the darkest hour is just before dawn, and at the Sunrise diner it's very late indeed. Four couples find themselves at an out-of-the-way 24-hour diner, but they are not all that they seem. Intertwined throughout the night are a middle age couple who are at a crisis in their lives, a cook who thinks he is finally finding his way forward, a waitress in a bad relationship and a young punk and his girlfriend who think this is the last stop before the new world of imagined ease. But the strangest of all are the dark stranger and young girl who don't seem to be part of this world. A film about dreams gone bad, missed opportunities, love, fear and death.

'Tales of Fear' is a six part anthology film styled after EC horror comics of the 1950s. The film includes a variety of tales: Teenagers in a graveyard at night realize it's not wise to disturb the dead. A nosey woman thinks her neighbor, Norman, is up to no good. The intentions of a child murderer with his latest catch are no match for child's play. Cellular reanimation was the doctor's goal, going to pieces became the result. A coyote hunter discovers that it's not safe to hunt out of season. Bank robbers on the run seek refuge, but what they find within the barn may be more permanent than what they're looking for.
